Portfolio of Works
Aquamedia Fine Art Originals
This collection includes my fine art original paintings. Each artwork is created with my unique layering techniques and watercolor, and watercolor pencils. Please enjoy the peace and contact me with your questions. All my best, Michael
Fine Art Jewelry
This collection will have jewelry that is handmade by both myself and my wife, Barbara Barkley(Barbara Barkleys site). It will be mixed media since I create the lampwork glass beads, head pins, and spacer beads. I also use precious metals on my beads such as 23k gold, palladium, and fine silver. Barbara creates beads and pendants in polymer clay. Many of her pieces are hand painted.
Know that we create all the pieces that you see and we hope that whatever you get will be worn in good health.
Block Prints
Each print is hand pulled by me and I have carved all the blocks. The prints are done directly to Barbara Barkleys' (barbarabarkley.com) handmade paper. The paper is made from cotton rag and other cloth fibers that have been beaten down and then individually hand pulled by Barbara. A very unique paper to have. I use many of the Mimbres pottery designs for my carved blocks. My wife and I live on the northern edge of where the Mimbres culture was located and have actually found some of the shards of there painted pottery. I use petroglyph images from many of the areas we have researched throughout the southwest and Hawaii. I have been an avid fan of petroglyphs since the 70's when I was in the Hawaii Petroglyph Society. Some of my designs will be originals of my own as well.
Nature prints
These botanical prints have been individually collected, arranged, and pressed by artists Michael Colombo and Barbara Barkley. They are then printed by Michael on Barbara's handmade paper. We offer these images with the hope of your enjoyment and wonder at the simple joy and chaotic beauty of nature. May they help you to find a moment of peace and respite as you contemplate this timeless subject.
Small original artworks
These are my small to miniature original aquamedia works. Most of these will be matted and ready to frame. Thanks for viewing and remember to get on my email list for specials that I offer.
